Softener

The presence of calcium and magnesium ions in the water makes it hard. There are varying degrees of hardness in water from slightly hard to very hard.

The following disadvantages of hard water will make you understand that the importance of water softening.softener

  • More soap is needed to produce leather, which increases cost.
  • Hardness will reduce the efficiency of kettles and heating systems. This is because lime scale is deposited on the system & piping when the water gets heated. It coats the heating element in kettles and inside the boilers and hot water pipes. This means more energy is needed to heat the water, again increasing costs. Pipes may become blocked causing the heating system to break down.

Afval offers water softeners in different sizes and different MOC. We offer complete automated softener as well as manual plant. Softener column contains a resin beads have sodium ions attached to them. When hard water passes through the softener, the hardness causing ions (calcium & magnesium) swap places with the sodium ions, while the water leaving the column contains more sodium ions, but free of calcium & magnesium ions. Once the resin beads become saturated with calcium and magnesium ions, the system must be regenerated by common salt.

We offer a skid mounted unit with unique design, and easy to operate. It consists of a pump, pre filter, and resin column and regeneration system. The operation of the plant can be fully automated.
